Audio Fault Monitoring Each exhibit within the Dome was a self contained entity linked to a central emergency paging system. Audio distribution was carried out by BSS Soundweb processors and the whole system was monitored by a series of interfaces supplied and commissioned by M+D Design. ECM units were used for monitoring sets of eight loudspeakers and amplifiers with the auxiliary inputs used to monitor the Soundwebs watchdog output and UPS operational status. These ECM’s were linked via fibre optic interfaces back to central control for interrogation & monitoring by a SID unit providing an output to a topographical laid out graphical user interface so that any fault could be quickly and speedily reported and repaired. The comprehensive nature of the fault reporting enables an accurate diagnosis of the fault ensuring that repair staff knew what to take with them for the repair, it was a long walk around the dome. Cue Lights A complex Show Control system was installed ( by others ) for the central show. This involved the use of multiple ‘digital’ cue lights that could not only advise the next three cues but also advise of ‘on the fly’ changes caused by changes to the shows schedule by external factors. |
